Annual events happen on Bangkok River:
KING’S CUP ELEPHANT POLO March
Each year, on the grounds adjacent to Anantara Riverside, teams and mahouts play friendly elephant polo tournaments during this championship charity event. All proceeds go to elephant conservation.
AMAZING THAILAND SALE (ICONSIAM) June/July
The Tourism Authority of Thailand stages the sale to end all sales every year. This is your opportunity to stay on the river and search the corridors and aisles of IconSiam and the Asiatique night market for that must have bargain.
WOMEN’s JOURNEY August
To coincide with the month of Mother’s Day, Thailand opens its doors to women from around the world for a kaleidoscope of experiences from stimulating to relaxing. Special retail and wellness promotions are abound during this time. In October, Bangkok River Partners floodlight their properties PINK in support of Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer Foundation.

Circle the river in this full bridge-to-bridge marathon, with starting gun and checkered flag at Asiatique.

CHINESE NEW YEAR January/February
The Chaophraya glows with red lanterns and lighting during Chinese New Year celebration. Dine traditional foods on the river or take a short hop up the river to Bangkok’s famous Chinatown, one of the largest in the world.
SONGKRAN Thai New Year Year April
Whether you are taking part in the water-blessing ceremonies, getting busy with a water gun, or just chilling by a pool on the river, this is a one of the most fun times to be in Thailand’s capital on the River.

A special time for Thais, Father’s Day is also the King’s Birthday and a time where the riverside restaurants are filled with proud dads and loving families.
MOTHER’S DAY – August
As with Father’s Day, Mother’s Day on August 12 is when Thai people celebrate the birth of Queen Sirikit and all Mothers in Thailand.
LOY KRATHONG – November
Loi Krathong, which translates roughly to “floating basket”, is one of the country’s most festive events celebrated every year on the night of full moon of the 12th Thai lunar calendar (November in Western calendar). Locals take to water bodies, be it river, canals, ponds, to gently launch their beautifully crafted krathongs decorated with delicately folded banana leaves, incense sticks, and a candle.
CHRISTMAS – December
Trees laden with lights and decorations, hampers over-flowing with Thai and traditional festive season treats, and a mouthwatering array of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dining options become available in many Bangkok River Partner locations.
NEW YEAR’S EVE – December

Live open-air concerts are regularly staged on Asiatique’s riverside. From jazz bands to electronic music parties, Asiatique’s night market comes alive with live performances from November to May each year.
